About Finger Lakes

Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack is a Thoroughbred track in Farmington, New York, near Canandaigua in the Finger Lakes region southeast of Rochester. Opened in 1962, it races on a one-mile dirt oval and does not have a turf course. The track is the primary Thoroughbred venue for western and central New York and conducts a seasonal meet that typically runs from spring into late autumn. Its featured races are largely restricted to New York-breds, including the New York Derby, part of the state-bred "Big Apple Triple." Gaming was added to the facility in the 2000s, and it operates today as a racino.
