About Presque Isle Downs
Presque Isle Downs is a Thoroughbred racetrack and casino in Erie, Pennsylvania. It opened in 2007 and was the first racetrack in the United States surfaced with Tapeta, an all-weather synthetic footing; the track has no turf course. Presque Isle holds a seasonal meet running from spring into autumn. Its signature event is the graded Presque Isle Downs Masters Stakes, contested on the synthetic surface. The track is owned by Churchill Downs Incorporated and operates alongside a casino.
