About Gulfstream Park
Gulfstream Park is a Thoroughbred racetrack and casino in Hallandale Beach, Florida, in the Miami metropolitan area. It first opened in 1939 and, after early financial troubles, was firmly established in the 1940s; today it stands as South Florida's flagship racing venue. The track offers multiple racing surfaces, including a main dirt track, a synthetic Tapeta course, and a turf course, and runs racing nearly year-round, anchored by its prestigious winter Championship Meet. Its signature races include the Grade 1 Florida Derby, a key Kentucky Derby prep first run in 1952, and the Pegasus World Cup, launched in 2017 as one of the richest races in the world. Gulfstream Park is operated by The Stronach Group.
